Spector to make...guitars?!?!

Sign in to disble this ad
So yesterday my friend Rob (who joined here yesterday) said something like Spector'll be making guitars. I sorta squeeled like a little fat kid who said he can buy whatever he wants at a candy store. So went in and checked them out (the site's http://www.spectorguitar.com/). I think they look pretty nice. Just like any other Spector. And I seriously said I'd buy one just because it has the Spector name on it. Alittle stupid, maybe, but I know that it's a Spector, so of course it'll be good!

Now to buy one to match my Spector, Jeremy II, and name it after the girlfriend of the REAL Jeremy, Jessie.

What's everyone else's take on this?

Yeah, I saw the ad in Guitar Player mag. Hopefully they'll be good, but I'd wait to get some feedback from others before investing. Maybe check it out on guitarwankers.com forum? (jk)

Theyve been making guitars for a while I thought. At least a couple years, just not a lot of em maybe. Perhaps just prototypes?

Heh, this is funny, cuz I'd never heard of Spector guitars until last night, when my brother told me: "You know Spector makes guitar eh?" Which I didn't. And now this pops up.

I think they look pretty hot. I'm surprised the body shape works well for guitars as well. Good designs are pretty versatile I guess.

It's hard to imagine a person playing a guitar of such a shape... They look good... But weird...
Also, the string spacing is kinda too big for my taste, but well... My fav guitars are Ibanez'.

I believe the 2 guitarists of Skid Row played Les Paul JR'S with Spector guitar necks not Kramer. The head had the Spector logo on it.I think this cool. I have always been a fan of Spector, I hope their guitars do well.

Probably the same way that bassists liked the Parker bass.

The Spector shape has been associated with basses for so long that on a guitar, it just looks weird IMO.
