| I used to work for them on the ramp and all I can say is you don't want to check your bass (or any instrument) with them. Actually, about 95% of the airlines are horrible, it's like they see that it's some type of instrument and then it's a challenge for them to find out how much they can mess it up. If you have to take it though, ask to gate check it. It will stay at the entrance to the airplane while everyone is boarding and then get put in as one of the last items. This way you know where it's at, and that it's not getting smashed. This shouldn't cost more and keeps it out of destructive hands longer. It will also be one of the first items to come off the airplane, and most likely back up to where you exit off the plane or at least one of the first items they put on the luggage belt to pick up. Good luck. |
