So working in a woodshop does have its scary mements. I squished my middle finger on my right (plucking) hand under 30 lbs worth of 5/8" melamine panels. I ended up with a HUGE blood blister for all my troubles.
That happened on Monday morning (within 1hr of starting ). It's curently healing, but I can't put any pressure on it. (It's currently bandaged). That "new skin" undeneath is really tender. What's the best/fastest way to toughen the finger pad up?
BTW, I used to practice martial arts so if I had some clean sand around I would use that for "poking," but any other ideas?
I'm currently forced to play with a pick but would rather not...

Played the gig the next night with the index finger in a splint and plucked only with my middle finger...
For blood blisters; after sterilizing a pin needle, pop it and then put super glue or nu-skin on it and it'll heal up in no time... go easy... |

I had popped/drained it with a sterilized pin (licked it clean ) and left a little hole to keep it from filling up again. I used hydrogen peroxide to clean it while at work, and Poly-sporin at home.
Crappy deal because I got a gig this Saturday night, and then three next week including our first TV appearance!!

I've gotten to where I actually play with my 1-3 just as much, if not more, than my 1-2, and when 2 heals, work it into a 3-finger technique! My finger story

However, I think you can guess what also happened...that middle finger tried plucking and - not so good-

Being a mechanic and ALWAYS having a cut or burn on my hands or wrists helps.
