Stage Lighting

Not sure which forum is the right one but this seems to fit here.

I am thinking about investing in a small lighting system for our band. Simple - 2 trees with 4 lights and controllers.

Thoughts I have so far are:

I have pretty much reached the conclusion that Par 38s and 46s are simply too small. They have to be 56 or 64.

I am not sure if LEDs are worth the money. Or is LED simply heads and tails above Can systems?

Chauvet has a 4Bar system but it seems too small to me for lighting a band. It also only has 3 colors -RBG.

Does American DJ have decent stuff? I can order it locally or online.

Anyone have any tips or thoughts?

Thanks.

Hi.

For a simple stand alone system for a bar band I'd still choose a traditional PAR56 fixture over Leds.

Leds are great for the most part. The problem is the cost.
For most of the Led fixtures, You can't replace the illumination components when those wear out (pretty soon on some makes/models).

I haven't seen a Led system that would satisfy my needs for the price I'd be willing to pay. Yet anyway .

Regards
Sam
