I don't actually play outside of my basement or rehearsal with my new band but my stagename would be Fastfwd. It's a nickname I got some 15 years ago and I've stuck with it in anything. I'll use it on the Internet, in computer games and why not as a stage name.

I use the stage name Owen Wilde.

Owen is my actual first name, so that's not too imaginative. I happen to share a birthday with, and be a huge fan of, Oscar Wilde (Lord Henry, which is the name I always use on the internet, is a character in A Picture of Dorian Gray). So that's where it comes from. In the band we all use the same 'real first name'/'made up last name' construction, my personal favorate being our drummer: Max Noize.

As to coming up with one, we all picked them for each other. The guys knew about the Wilde connection and so picked that. I've always thought Koan (prononced Cohen) would be a good one. A koan is a zen mystery such as 'what's the sound of one hand clapping?'.

Cheers

Make it something cool but weird. For example, my guitarists stage name is "Puggy Socks". Something like that would be cool.

My fans call me by my stage name. They yell it out my name at least once a set. Sometimes they're real vocal and obnoxious about it.

I still don't know why they call me "Freebird"

A fellow country bass player calls himself "Olden Young". I always liked that one.
One problem with a stage name: Sometimes you get paid by check. So either you have to reveal your real name, or you get a check w/a name they don't recognise at the bank.

My name here at TB is my stage name.

My last name is long, hard to spell, and even harder to pronounce correctly. That is why I just use my middle name as my last.

Or you can do a DBA (Doing Business As) and open up a business account that includes your stage name.

Not gigging, but "Odin". Norse god of war and poetry and wisdom and such, good stories...plus he has a huge beard, which I strive to achieve someday. My real name is Adam Cupp, and with saying my last name...nobody has spelled it right upon hearing it, unless I elaborate "C U P P". Then they laugh. "See You Pee-Pee". Highly professional!

My stage name is Line Rodgers, 'cos I used to play "dirty" bass lines, and I'm supposed to look like Buck Rodgers (Buck who?...).

In my old band, mine was Rumple. Heh, I may go back to using that. It has a certain charm.

Hmm, I was Lord Kjold for a while in a warrior metal band. That was funny.
