I think most Staind fans would resent that connection.

They did get into a fight with the band Finch though, who I think are an emo band. They look like one.

edit: my bad, it was Disturbed that got into that fight.

I THINK.
You can also get in if you're Pennsylvanian Dutch, but that's more of a side clause than anything else.

I'd agree to that.

They just suck

No seriously, they're not emo, in an emo way, maybe in a nu-metal way, but not emo-emo..

There is a new breed of Metal coming out that's even more whiny than Nu Metal, it's like Nu Metal with Emo kind of mixed in. As I Lay Dying is the premo example.

I hate Nu Metal.

I hate Emo.

I don't think there's enough hatred in my being to withstand Emo Nu Metal.

Do yourself a favor then, if someone puts in an "As I lay Dying" CD... duck and cover.

As I Lay Dying seems about as straight-forward metal as anything else, at least to me. I have the Shadows Are Security, and it sounds like the other melodic death metal CDs I have.

Excuse me for being out of the loop here, but what is "Emo"?

I guess this is the first sign that I'm not going to be able to identify with my kids and I'm only 24

Demi-emo?

Semi-emo?

Quasi-emo?

Anyone?

Should I care?
