Started new band today -- Pink Floyd covers.

A drummer and a guitarist whom I used to jam with some years ago both asked me if I wanted to do a side project with them (all three of us have other main bands) where we would rehearse about fifteen or so Pink Floyd songs and then gig them locally for a few months before recording them as a tribute album in the guitarist's pro studio.

I jumped at the chance because it sounds like a lot of fun and I already know all the songs. Yes, we are doing it as a trio, without keyboards, so it will have a bit of a different flavor and a whole lot more room for me to expand the bass parts. The guitarist has the chops to pull this off and he is a perfectionist and a huge Floyd fan so I have no worries.

We already decided on a name for our trio, Three Pigs.

Here's our tentative song list:

Careful With that Axe, Eugene
One of These Days
Echoes
Breathe/Time/Breathe Reprise
Brain Damage/Eclipse
Have a Cigar
Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts 5 and 6)
Pigs (Three Different Ones)
In the Flesh
Another Brick in the Wall (Parts 1, 2 and 3)
Mother
What Shall We Do Now?
Young Lust
Hey, You
Run Like Hell

I can't wait to start playing the Pink Floyd. This is gonna be fun!
