| Wait for the recession to end before hoping to get any business. I would think that nowadays newlyweds - especially recent college grads with huge student loans to pay off - need to economize on their wedding day expenses wherever they can, and as a rule the wedding band is one of the first things to go. Hiring a DJ is usually cheaper. In the meanwhile, get yourself a band together, make up a setlist - be sure it's long and varied - and rehearse like crazy. And when things get better (hopefully soon) you'll be ready to go, then it's simply a matter of drumming up business. And don't forget - tuxes for the guys, and formal dresses for the ladies in your band!
