Well way back when I 1st wanted to start playing everyone told me for the music I wanted to play (newer soul stuff and some hip hop) i needed a 5 string bass. Flash foward I have owned a few basses and my main is a tribi l-2500 . Love the bass but the low b is just a thumb rest like 90 percent of the time unless I'm just messing around. I was looking for outside opinons should I keep this bass and maybe one day I'll be tempted to explore that range or trade for a four in the same price range?

If you don't use it, lose it! No but seriously, the Low B is useful above the 5th fret to keep you from changing positions. So personally I would keep it and work on my technique so the B string fits into your style.

+1 Keep it. Switching to 5 was one of the best moves I ever made!
