I'd rather the play the drums any day. I've never seen Neil Peart near a flute. And I sure as hell don't want to hear any band where they have a flute player!

TULL = Flute
DMB = Violin

They are both killer bands.

That is exactly what first alerted me to how much the flute sucks. That and having to put up with them in school music lessons! Gimme a synthesizer any day!
