So I went to a Steve Miller show tonight, which he blew the house away. And while hes introducing his band he says and on the piano from the prestigious "Wooten family." I'm guessing there is a realation to Vic? Imagine Vic stopped bye. Wowww

Joseph is Vic's brother, and he's been touring on keys with Steve Miller for quite some time now....

There are 5 Wooten brothers....Vic is the youngest. There's Regi (guitar), Rudy (Sax), Roy (drums/drumitar), Joe (keys), and Vic.

Aloha, Garey

What I want to know is, when is Joseph going to put out an album. He writes such amazing songs, I would love to hear more.

There's an album out there called The Wootens...it's probably 25 years old now, so happy hunting. It's a Pop album, IIRC.
It doesn't seem that long ago when I used to see Reggie playing with a local peninsula band called The Journal...he reminded me of Hiram Bullock.
Joe played in a beach bar band called Hotcakes(my best friend's brother's band).

There was a clinic about 10 years ago at one of our music stores(AL&M); Victor, Keith Horne, Larry Bright, Tom Coster, & Frank Gambale...Rudi sat in on alto. Rudi was almost like the 2nd coming of Coltrane.

There's a very, very brief Wooten family history at the above link.
Victor was 3 when Rudi began teaching him the bass.

The album I mentioned was released in '85 on Arista Records.

Actually Regi is the teacha.....not Rudy. Also....I've got the Wooten Brothers album, released on Arista Records, about 20 years old. Pretty funny....

Thanks, I mis-typed...I was still thinking of Rudi playing alto at that clinic, I guess.
