Seems like this woulda been done about 20-25 years ago?
And now opens the door for one of those Rock Star shows where INXS & those other guys "found" their new lead singer.

Our city had its show this summer cancelled when buffoon Tyler fell off the stage in Sturgis. We had bought 4 tickets through the fanclub for $200 EACH. (Way to high to begin with but ZZ Top was the opener). Gig gets cancelled and Aerosmith's fanclub dinged us $200 for a "cancellation fee". Couldn't believe it. Tyler can't make the gig and I get nailed. Aerosmith will never get another nickel of my money.
Color me bitter.

For the record, I'm not a big Aerosmith fan. I love their old stuff, and had an opportunity to open for them in '02 which was awesome, but I posted the link mainly because, like the Stones, I never would have predicted a focal member leaving.

Rob | sad... but likely true.
This group should have hung it up YEARS ago... but the money was just too good, I guess. I was a HUGE fan back when they first came out... but these boys are a little long-in-the-tooth to keep playing "rock star", if you ask me.
Maybe Steve just wants to play with his many grandkids. Good for him. Hopefully the hangers-on in the group have enough saved that they won't have to get jobs....

Rob | +1
10 to 1 he's back within a year and the big "reunion" tour will follow just like Rob said.

They are really too old to play the rock star anymore, IMO, but what else are they going to do? To top it off, they still make dang good money doing it!
