...not that it matters to me-
Seems like this woulda been done about 20-25 years ago?

And now opens the door for one of those Rock Star shows where INXS & those other guys "found" their new lead singer.

Personally I am done with Aerosmith anyways. Our city had its show this summer cancelled when buffoon Tyler fell off the stage in Sturgis. We had bought 4 tickets through the fanclub for $200 EACH. (Way to high to begin with but ZZ Top was the opener). Gig gets cancelled and Aerosmith's fanclub dinged us $200 for a "cancellation fee". Couldn't believe it. Tyler can't make the gig and I get nailed. Aerosmith will never get another nickel of my money.

Color me bitter.

I smell a hyper-inflated ticket price reunion tour in a few years.

Wow. That is a scam!

For the record, I'm not a big Aerosmith fan. I love their old stuff, and had an opportunity to open for them in '02 which was awesome, but I posted the link mainly because, like the Stones, I never would have predicted a focal member leaving.

I saw them in Denver and I don't think Aerosmith has any future without Tyler. He really IS the band to many people. If true, you can color Aerosmith gone.

sad... but likely true.

This group should have hung it up YEARS ago... but the money was just too good, I guess. I was a HUGE fan back when they first came out... but these boys are a little long-in-the-tooth to keep playing "rock star", if you ask me.

Maybe Steve just wants to play with his many grandkids. Good for him. Hopefully the hangers-on in the group have enough saved that they won't have to get jobs....

You know, this summer, the rumor was that Tyler was going to go on tour as lead VOX for the reformed Led Zepplin, which of course means that a jealous Robert Plant will now replace Steven Tyler in Aerosmith.

This news seems to be slow catching on. But Zomb13 has already posted the link explaining that Steven Tyler is not leaving. Even now, hours after the news has gone out, there are still a few news sources who don't seem to know.

+1

10 to 1 he's back within a year and the big "reunion" tour will follow just like Rob said.

Something to this effect--"New York, I want you to know I'm not leaving Aerosmith." -----etc, etc.

I was in middle school when Toys in the Attic came out, and I am dang near fifty! They are really too old to play the rock star anymore, IMO, but what else are they going to do? To top it off, they still make dang good money doing it!

Aerosmith passed their "best before" date about 20 years ago and has been nothing but a nostalgia act since.
