We go to will call to get our tickets... they hand us the envelope, and along with the tickets are four VIP passes for an after show meet and greet... we figured there would be atleast 20 other people.
the show rocked hard. rage tunes are a lot better with cornell.. sound garden is a lot better with morello. meh. a lot of douche bags, though. i was trying to get up with my friends, but some ass wouldn't let me through... so when a song got crazy, i pushed his ass out of the way and joined my posse.
anyways.
after the show, i meet back up with dominique, who had the tickets and VIP passes cause her dad is friends with audioslave's manager, and emilio who is her boyfriend
abe was supposed to come with us, be ended up not... so we had an extra VIP pass. i asked if my friend joe could have it, and she lets him
we go wait in the seats we were told to wait in... then get escorted down stairs to the locker and prep room area... and are told to wait.
10 minutes later "sorry guys, the band left. they have to be in san fran tommorow and it is a long drive."
i realize it was free for all of us... audioslave didnt and doesnt owe me and my friends anything...
but it still sucks.
we felt really special, too... we got down there, and we were the only 4. their manager really hooked us up... so props to him. |

You're lucky he didn't try to cancel the show because of you.
J/K, MM. That's a bummer you didn't get to see 'em after the show, especially since you were so excited about it. Maybe next time!

| | | | I believe soundgarden songs could be better with morello, but the "rage tunes are a lot better with cornell" part is what I don't agree with.
Congrats on the free tickets, sucks you couldn't meet Tim C.

I don't believe/agree with either part. Kim Thayli is such an amazing guitarist and nothing against Morello, but he seems to be like an excited little kid and doesn't have the laid back feel that Kim does, he seems more focused/wise for the lack of better descriptive terms. But knowing Cornell, they probably did soundgarden ballads... Black Hole Sun or Fell on Black Days... or the other black ones... or... ugh... Spoonman :aggpukemygutsout:

Audioslave are one of my fav bands, but I don't think I'd want to meet them... it'd spoil my view of them if something like that happened, and tbh... I wouldn't know what to do if I did meet them... I'm not the kind of person to be star struck, and it'd all be a bit false... it's not like we'd be mates or anything, lol...
The girl I'm seeing at the mo met Reel Big Fish in Preson (UK) the other week and had a whale of a time with them... envy!
