Strangest response to a CL ad I have ever received

So, I have a couple of basses listed on CL. I have bought and sold a lot of things on CL over the years and have received a lot of off the wall responses and thought I had read every scam out there.

I do not know what to think of the one I received this morning.

Here is the e mail

Quote:
I'm fascinated about you and the bass in your ad. I want to know more and was curious as to if you could call/text me with your location? My cell phone # is 612-671-xxxx . I have money set to go. I just need to ask you something over the phone and then check you out, this is not a scam. Thank you!
Okay, nothing to weird there.
But then I noticed that there was two photos attached so I opened them.

What am I missing here? I don't see a scam unless she want to trade favors for the bass.

Not uncommon at all. I have received several responses such as this and have friends who have received them as well. Its a scam to get your information. Sometimes they use the info to try to steal your identity. Some use it to start communicating with you over the internet and when they feel that they have earned your trust, they ask you to start sending them money. Other scammers use this method to get you to go to a porn site.

A trade might be ok, but make sure there is some cash going to you as well.

Tell her you need more detailed pics before you can be sure you're getting a good deal.

She's in his avatar and he has used her to sell basses.

LOL!

Rule #1 - if they say it's not a scam, it is.

But thanks for posting the pictures anyway!

Nobody ever offers to buy my gear with "favors" *** Maybe I should get a tatoo.

On a side note, she looks really young to have such lumpy legs. I do really like her shirt though. I would let her scam me a little.

The funny thing is she replied to my MTD CRB5 that I have listed fairly cheap.

If it was a scam I would think they would try for the Spector I have listed.

Must be a 5 string girl.

I got the same response from a listing for a 1940s 2N tractor and brushhog.. except "she" said she was "very intriqued" by me and wanted to get coffee. guess she has a thing for guys with tractors.
