Strap for Heavy 6 string Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, I have a Carvin 6 string Fretless bass, 35 and 1/4 inch neck scale, and I have a strap for it that just doesn't really support it very well. After not that long of playing standing up, my back and shoulders start to ache so I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for a good heavy duty strap for this bass. Its nearly 12 pounds, if that helps.

4" wide model from Italia Straps. Very high quality, reasonably priced, and they work great for heavier instruments.

I got a big, wide strap by Levy from GC. I guess it's a bass-specific strap, it's wider and longer than a typical guitar strap, and is nicely padded too. And it really did stop my shoulder from aching after long practices.

Levy's 4-1/2" Padded Leather Bass Guitar Strap and more Straps & Strap Locks at GuitarCenter.com.

The Comfortstrapp is great. I have a couple and the weight of a bass is completely irrelevant to me....and yes I often to the 4 hour gig thing.

I switched all my instruments to Comfort Strapps several years ago, and I'm never going back!
