Straps - back pain

I'm looking for a strap that could possibly help reduce the intense back pains I get when playing long periods of time standing up. Don't know if it even exists, or if it's possible, but if anyone here has had a similar problem, and found a strap that helped them, i'd really like to read about it.

It's a common problem. The best strap I've found so far is a Neotech Mega Bass Strap. I still get pain in the upper back but I can play twice as long as with other straps. Another solution, though not a strap, is to use a semi-hollow body bass. Best wishes

I use a big 3in. wool lined leather strap that my grandpa used to use but gave me, and though its looks pretty un-metal, it makes it so I don't even notice the big-a$$ slab of wood that is my Destroyer most of the time.

This bass used to destroy (hahaha) my back when I was only using cheapo nylon straps, and even a 2 1/2 in unlined leather strap would eventually leave me a cripple after an hour or 2.

What are you using now? I have a Peavey T-40 that at times I feel has been carved from granite and I use a 3" wide padded strap which makes it playable for a full set.

I have not tried the strap shown in the first link. I used the slider strap (second link) for a few months. It helped with back pain, neck strain, etc., but it positioned the bass a little too far from where I prefer to hold it, making my right hand position (picking hand) uncomfortable.

I ended up just buying a high quality, heavily padded, thick leather 4" strap. It seems to do the trick. It's very similar to the Neotech strap walldaja mentioned, but hand-tooled, better looking and, of course, more expensive than the Neotech version.

A cheap, thin, unpadded strap, that is probably the worst thing you could use.
