I'm sure this thread will get moved to "Misc" but I love being in O/T, so...
Question for you bassists: Forget about everything... amps, processors, brands of guitars other than Fender and Gibson.
If you walked into a room to play with a guitarist, would it make you feel better if he was holding a stock Strat, or a stock Les Paul Standard? Just your very first impression.

I just personally prefer the sound of a LP over a Strat |

Also, it's my favorite to play. My strat has P90s though, so it's kind of a crossbreed. |

Tele would impress me more.

I voted LP as that's my favorite guitard tone, but I really dig the rare twanger-banger that likes more than one sound.

I would know...I own both
(But I prefer my telecaster over the both of them )

IMO the strat might be more versatile in the sense that it has some more switch choices, but at least two of them are unusable for me, and a few folks I know who play Fender exclusively. As far as the Tele goes, the tone is just too skinny for my taste.
To each his own..... |

Edit: Nevermind, I looked at yer profile...

Edit: Nevermind, I looked at yer profile... | I actually believe it's a 71, after some discussion about features on the bass in conjuction with the S/N, it points pretty squarely at 71.
I arrived at the 72 date solely on S/N, and not taking any of the features into consideration.
I should probably change that profile...
