String feedback

Do you guys notice that if you hit one string on your bass the others start ringing out a little bit? Is there anyway to prevent this from happening besides constantly muting? Are there any manufacturers that have addressed this specifically? (I think I remember reading about some engineer who solved this problem by staggering string height or something.)

Only way to get rid of it is by having good muting technique. A floating thumb can be very good for that or if you play with a pick then you need to palm mute.
It's a bit unusual at first but it gets to be better and better with practice. I've learning to use a floating thumb for the past month and it's getting to pretty fluid now.
