Studio tips?

Sign in to disble this ad
Im going to the studio in two weeks with my band and Im rather nervous. Ive been playing only two years and im inexperienced to be honest. However, I know the tunes well and have a slight problem with one area of a song, but Ill hopefully have it together by then . I have no clue what to expect, but tracking and mixing. Im horrible with sound and EQing. This should be interesting.

Would anyone have some tips or things to be prepared to deal with? Any tips to efficiently utilize time would be great. Maybe articles to read on studio work?

Just let the rest of the guys worry about the studio part and you just play the songs for them to record it. =P

Know all of your parts, bring cables and a tuner.
The rest is up to the producer. If you guys are using a good one, then you should be fine.

^^ +1 and I'll add to be open to experimenting. meaning know your parts enough to be able to try new ideas if presented (and time $$ is ok) I've known a lot of guys, really good players, that couldn't take direction. . .
