I recently had a cracker of a comment which made me LOL and at the same time.
I was trying to play Level 42's Mr Pink and a friend of mine came in. He took one look at me and said
"Isn't slap-bass music for porn?"
Sad thing was that he was deadly serious.
So, can anyone add to this?

There was a time when I would have said the same thing. But in the music I play most people can't read a note, yet alone play from sheet.

I once had a guitar player tell me that if you could play a 1-4-5 progression, that's all you needed to play the Blues.
Coming from a guy who wouldn't have known what a groove was if he had fallen in it. )=(
