Stupid Craigslist People! Epiphone <> Gibson ... Squier <> Fender

Sign in to disble this ad
I really wish stupid people on craislist would stop putting stuff like "Awesome Fender P bass" in the title & then open it up and see it's a Squier... Same with Gibson/Epiphone. So sick of it.

As someone who's been actively looking for another FENDER P-bass, I couldn't agree with you more.

I have nothing against Squiers, and could even end up with the right one, but don't try to tell me they're anything but a Squier!

they will always say like "ferarri supercar goodness" in the title and it turns out to be a 1986 vauxhall nova thats been modified

People are ignorant, and they are also semi-literate.

Such is life.

I don't like it either, but I can see why they do it. Squire is made by Fender and while calling a Squire a Fender is pushing it...it gets people to click the link and view the ad. Still, I'd prefer that people didn't do that. With all the ads on Craigslist, it can take a LONG TIME to get through all the misleading crap before you actually find what you're looking for.

Yes, They are ignorant, but they are just letting us know how deep the ignorance is rooted........ Hey, at least they could read the Squire(spelled wrong on purpose) by Fender on the headstock, or the Epiphone by Gibson on the neck plate.

Almost like calling a "Big K" a Coca-Cola........

Charming means small.
Quaint means small.
Cozy means small.
Small means.............well, they never use that word, except in "small down payment".

Best be careful suggesting that Epi or Squier are somehow inferior to the real thing - there are TB folks who are touchy about that...
