Style Cravings or "Genre" Aquisition Syndrome

I like my band. I get to play somewhat active, rhythmic, fingerstyle lines. I found that my Streamer Stage I works better than my Jazz for this group. I play through a 300 watt 115 and it works great. Fun stuff.

But.

Lately I want to grab a P, run it through a fridge, grab a pick, and go:

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
C#C#C#C#C#C#C#C#C#C#C#C#C#C#
AAAAAAAABBBBBBBB
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

on the A string at like 100bpm with a steady 4/4 halftime beat.

and loud as can be.

Please help...

I guess this isn't very useful without specifically asking the question:

What do you do when you get cravings to play a style your band doesn't play? It can be as bad as G.A.S. How do you deal?

I usually play along with recordings of music outside of my usual style, or I make some attempt to actually hook up with musicians who do other styles for some informal jamming if possible.

This^ and maybe a for fun side project to relieve the cravings.
