"subwoofer" set up?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm not sure if I'll even ask the right question but here it goes:
Can I plug a kick drum into the same amp I am using and have it act as a subwoofer? I'd still be plugged into the mixer via DI and could hear myself through the monitor. I could put the cab / amp out front and have it act like a subwoofer for the kick drum and my bass? Would the kick drum kill my bass sound?
Thanks!

I would imagine it would suck a lot of juice out of your bass (that is unless you have like a massive poweramp in your rig....kick drum takes a lot power to give it that kick.

I wouldn't do it. No way. Get a crossover, another amp and a real sub or two for the PA. Then you can boost frequencies on just the kick so that it 'pumps'.
