What are some good brands and models for ukuleles? Specifically baritone. I got the rogue version and I really like and would like to move up to something a little better in quality. I would prefer something with a pickup but it is not a requirement. Thanks

Edit: What about that nato wood they describe for the Lanikai? I've never heard of that.

Not sure about the Nato wood.
I'm not a uke player, but have looked a bit into it myself.

Some of the nicest baris were made by Martin and go for over a grand on ebay. Close in quality but not price are Favillas -- I love 'em, also no longer in production. G String, Koaloha and Kamaka, as were mentioned earlier are very good. Better than Lanakai is the Jenny http://www.jumpingflea.com/productde...l/BU7B~/d.html
A lot of players have them and are very impressed. Good luck.

Pretty nice for the price. Of course just like bass, guitar and everything else, you can spend as much as you want on fancier hand made ones.

I'm extremely impressed with the sound that my engelmann series and my jenny series ukes get. the Jenny is a far better uke, but for the price the Engelmann is one hell of a value. http://www.jumpingflea.com/bushman.cfm |

I would like it to have a pickup. Damn, if only that engelmann had a pickup, I think I would go for that. But I also really like that cutaway Jenny. I will probably just save for that cutaway with the pickup.

Speaking of woodys
If that doesn't sell you a ukelele, nothin will.
