Suggestions for a drum machine...

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everyone,

I am currently borrowing my friends Alesis SR-16 Drum Machine to do some home recording with. I know many people are very satisfied with this unit, but I am not. I want to easily create some of my own beats (playing mostly hard rock songs), plus something with a bit more flexibility with doing your own fills with your fingers instead of letting the machine do those weak fills. I find that I am spending so much time wrestling with the Alesis and getting more frustrated than creating music.

Does anyone have any recommendations on other drum machines?

Thanks!

I bought a Boss DR660 off of here. I'd suggest looking into a boss drum machine. I haven't spent all that much time doing fills on it, but i feel it is plenty programmable.

take it easy.

+1 on the dr-660. i bought one new in 1994, used the heck out of it for a few years, sold it to a buddy, got another one just this past spring. sounds good, easy to program, pretty cheap.
