Super Mario Bros music for trombone quartet

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi everybody.

As I said in this thread, I was asked to arrange some Super Mario Bros music for a trombone quartet in the university. A smile crossed my face since there are two favorites here: SMB music and trombones. Slide trombone is the wind instrument I always wanted to play, so I accepted the assignment with great enthusiasm. I was suggested this video and this other one for transcribing, but from the beginning I thought of making my own version.

I didn't have the music and that's why I created the previous thread (A big THANK YOU to all of you fellow TBers who helped me - specially Internal Affair ). After getting it, I started working on the arrangement and just finished it. Four trombones playing some SMB selections. The first trombone player must practice his/her high C, since I tried to take advantage of the instrument's high register.

But of course, this thread isn't just about letting you know about what I've just done. Finale, as any other MIDI-related software, plays the written music, so here is the MIDI version of my work. Needless to say, the "performance" is very plain (hope the real players are competent enough - never heard them), but anyway I want to give you an idea of the arrangement. There will always be some room for improvements, but anyway hope you enjoy it.

Please?

Do you think I could get a copy of that? I just started a trombone quartet at my college, and I would love to play that.

Hey Chris, I'm dying to see/hear it live . Unfortunately, these guys just started rehearsing it like two weeks ago and they can't get together very often. I think I must be patient. Of course, I'll let you know as soon as I get a recording.

Smile another beggar

You're probably tired of people asking but could you send your piece to l.e.oriol200@hotmail.com? I'm a senior in high school and my other three best friends would love to play this at our end of year concert. ( yes we are all trombone players)
