Superstition In The Way ? ? ?

I dropped some music off the stand today.

My wife tells me that it's bad to drop music on the floor.

To undo the jinx:
I'm supposed to pick up the sheet;
Drop it back on the floor;
Sit on it
Then pick it up and put it back.

Otherwise, I'll never get around to playing or learning the
music from the sheet that fell.

I've never heard of this before.

My mother-in-law is also a musician who taught my wife this superstition,
but the clincher was that I called a music instructor acquaintance
and he knows lots of people who believe this.

What Superstitious Rituals do you have?

If I don't tie my shoes, I might trip.

Tell her to go to church, or something.

I'm not superstitious.

I have worked at several restaurants and at every restaurant I have worked at there has been at least one person that believes that if somebody accidentally sweeps your feet with a broom, they have to spit on the broom or it's bad luck.

Today at work I opened a umbrella several times while inside and nothing happened. The other day I walked under a ladder, and my black cat crosses my path almost daily when she is hanging around the house. Superstition is a crock

but how do you know that if you didn't have a cat, you might've won the lottery by now!

I am 18 and not eligible for the lottery, which also isn't featured in my state (other than scratch-off stuff); that's how I know
