Hi everybody. Thank you in advance for reading.
Just posted this to my Facebook timeline
and felt like sharing it with all of you fellow bass players as well:

It has the video recording of (almost) the whole concert performed by this terrific band at the Paris Pavillon on December 1st, 1979. The performance that took place two days earlier in the same venue was released a few months later on the "Supertramp Paris" double LP, which is in my opinion one of the best-sounding live rock albums ever made.
But it took 33 years for this 16 mm. film to see the light of day. These recordings are highly valuable because they were made at the height of Supertramp's commercial success after "Breakfast In America", one of the top-selling alums of 1979. Add 33 years of waiting plus the fact that the band was never the same after Roger Hodgson left in 1983, and this document has everything to be considered "mythic".
On a personal note, I want to say that my enthusiasm is partly due to the fact that, for a long time, I couldn't understand Supertramp's huge success when they became famous in Colombia with "Breakfast In America". I truly hated the band because I was exclusively into hard-sounding stuff and the band's relaxed feel wasn't of my liking. But tastes mellow with age and that's how I learned to appreciate the work of these musicians who, without virtuosism nor aggressiveness but well-conceived songs and impeccable performances, could leave their imprint on popular music's history. This is a highly recommended DVD/Blu-Ray. Unfortunately, it seems that the copyright owners are very protective since I couldn't find a preview on the Net. That's why I'm posting this link that I already shared some time ago: http://www.tagtele.com/videos/voir/26372
("The Logical Song" - Supertramp 1979, promo video)
It's a shame that it seems to be a legal dispute because Roger Hodgson didn't approve this release, but Eagle Rock Entertainment and The Supertramp Partnership (John Anthony Helliwell, Dougie Thomson and Bob Siebenberg) say otherwise. Anyway and again, it's a terrific document.

Great band always one of my favorites basically Rodger is Supertramp and probably has the final say in everything. I think the others were trying to make some money and hoped he would get on board once the money started rolling in thanks for posting.
Just ordered this, thanks for the heads up!

I just bought Breakfast In America on cassette. Great album. It was my first record as a kid. We had a lot of records in the family but this one was my own.
Yes my car has a cassette player.

I just watched "School" from this online, and I must say, it is excellent.
However, Roger Hodgson is doing a fantastic version of that song with a band he put together here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnhRP6XALMw
