Suppliers of On-Stage Gear & Supplies

My band is starting to travel more, and I could use advice from roadies and touring musicians to find out what kind of on-stage gear and supplies you find indispensible when touring, how you balance road-worthy quality against cost, and which suppliers you buy from.

I'm interested in the kind of equipment and supplies that are used by the whole band, not just us bassists.

If you're willing to provide sources, I'll be happy to compile a list everyone can use.

What are some great sources for items such as heavy-duty, road-worthy, power cords and gang boxes, stage lighting, mixers, microphone cable-snakes, gaffer's tape, and so forth?

Thanks!

They usually have most of what we need at the venues, but here are a few sites for everything tour related.

Tour Supply

Northern Sound & Light

Hope that helps some!

Follow the link above to Northern Sound and Light. Great service, and no one has lower prices. Ditto on the gaffer's tape, but it's never cheap, although GC was selling duct tape as gaffer's tape and I called them on it. Remarkably, they quit selling it and got real gaffer's tape.

Where are you guys getting road-worthy gang boxes and power cords? Are you making your own, buying them ready made, or what?

Thanks

We use a 12 gauge multi-outlet extension cord to distribute power across the stage. Very road-worthy.

except that is 14ga.
