Sweaty hands when nervous

I get sweaty hands before gigs (never at rehearsal though). I wipe them but that doesn't do the trick. I'm wondering if using a little baby powder is an ok idea to make them dry?

Baby powder works fine, in my experience. Another trick sometimes used by performers is ice water. Wash the hands in it (with soap if you like) and dry them on a clean towel or a paper towel.

I never heard of the water trick. I'll have to try that. Thanks!
