SX/Essex Acoustic Guitars?

Sign in to disble this ad
I know, I know, it's a bass forum. Trust me, I'm not trading in the Lakland any time soon. I just want something I can play some Beatles songs on by myself.

Anyway, I've seen lots of good info on the SX basses, but I can't really find much about the SX acoustic guitars. They seem nice on paper:

# Beautiful natural Sold Spruce top
# High Quality German Shadow P7 pickup with EQ and active (9v) preamp
# Professional Rosewood pushpin style bridge with Graphtech NUBONE saddle made in Canada
# Gorgeous Mahogany back and sides
# Mahogany neck with Rosewood fingerboard
But who knows whether that translates into a good guitar.

I'm interested in something like
http://www.rondomusic.net/dg30e.html or
http://www.rondomusic.net/dg50ce.html (unfortunately not available at the moment)

For $150-$160 it seems unbeatable. Any opinions?

I'd go for it. One of the guys from back home bought one of their LP copies-this same guy owns an actual Gibson Gold Top, a few Fenders, and a Line 6 guitar-ever since he got the SX-i've seen him play that one more than any other. Kinda scary if you ask me. I trust his word and opinion on instruments as he's played longer than i've been alive [i dated his daughter & played in school bands w/his son].

In other words-if i ever buy another acoustic or an electric guitar-it'll come from Rondo.
