Taj Mahal played here...

Saturday night I saw Taj Mahal in Fort Collins, CO as part of NewWestFest. I only caught the last half-hour of the show, but I was blown away by Bill Rich's bass playing. Of course, Taj Mahal had the whole crowd in the palm of his hand. Really fun show!

DANG...Bill Rich is good! His solos are NOT the kind people run from.

Taj Mahal is fantastic, and I do love Bill Rich's playing. He's done a lot with Taj Mahal, and he can get really funky during the blues, which I love!

He plays on the non-blues Taj Mahal albums (Taj Mahal and the Hula Bluesband, World Music, etc.) and has some great reggae chops as well.

Taj Mahal is my second favorite bluesman next to john lee hooker. I would have loved to have seen him.
