Talkbass malicious ?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey anyone who can help !! My Boss (pig vomit) today accused me of visiting malicious sites after finding out that my computor had crashed our server because it was infected with over 20 viruses !! Because I have talkbass open most days and read posts I was wondering if anyone had downloaded any viruses on this site. I don't know much about viruses but can u really get them from a forum (might be a dumb question).
Anyway any advise would be great. Many thanks.

Pig Vomit? You guys get the Howard Stern Show in Australia? Crazy!

Anyway, nope, never got a virus or spyware or malware of any kind on here, although for a couple days I was getting gay porn ads. But I think they've worked out that bug

Sansamp VT. Not real versatile but totally nails Ampeg tones to the wall. If you want something that's more transparent, I like my EBS Microbass II, but it's not real cheap.

I remember reading that it's very rare to actually get viruses through visiting forums or using the internet generally and that most viruses are from people loading infected cover disks off magazines...or opening attachments on emails?

I saw a statistic that 98% of viruses arrive via email.

What usually happens is that people email their friends files with "funny" pictures or video - they get opened and contain viruses.

I can remember a time a few years ago where the office I was in got infected and it was tracked down to a CD that was given away free on a magazine cover.

It ain't Talkbass.

So if your computer was the source, it came from somewhere else. Chances are it's email-related.

A little "bass porn".

Edit: The moderator scrubbed this pic, even though I thought it was very "softcore", with no nudity. Oh well, rules are rules. Oops

TB = Clean. I imagine you have an IT dept of some sort? If you've nothing to hide, ask to see the logs that prove it.

Sounds like your "IT" staff didn't have an up to date anti virus or keep the operating system updated. Some viruses happen due to not having updates.
