TalkDrums?

Sign in to disble this ad
Are there any sites out there like TB, but for drums? My band and I are looking for a drummer, and have advertised on Craigslist, Backpage, MySpace and MusiciansOnly (ie the usual suspects), but I don't want to miss a smaller niche site if one exists. Anyone know something I don't ?

Thanks in advance!!

unfortunately, almost all the drum forums seem to be heavily populated by the younger crowd (not necessarily a bad thing in itself) or jerks. the threads are all the same thing over and over again. you will read anything of value in about a week and need not return. http://acapella.harmony-central.com/...?s=&forumid=19 is o.k. but certainly not like here. you are not gonna find that.

The Pearl drum forum (www.pearldrum.com, and search for the link to the forum) is great for info (about everything, not just their drums, though they are heavily favoured)...just stay out of Chit-Chat...that's when the fangs come out.

In Montana they have signs over bars that say,"Before engaging your mouth, make sure your mind is in gear!"

I was a member there for a while, and it's okay...They seem to not like new people, but it can be informative once you look past the elitist jerks.

But yeah, TalkBass is definately unique in the realm of internet music forums. I doubt this...vibe, I suppose, could be recreated anywhere else.

Try Drummerworld. Well moderated, no flaming, very few annoying folks.
