pix of the pair is pre-transplant operation. '03 epi goth LP studio on the left, '96 epi LP standard in purple metal flake on the right.
and a single shot of the standard post-op.
unfortunately the standard has a pretty bad neck twist, and i don't have the $$ to get it fixed right now. looks good wth black DR's on it. the studio currently has pink DRs. i believe they are both med-heavy sets - 10-13-17-32-42-52.

| | Registered User Endorsing artist: Musicman basses, Hipshot products | | Join Date: Oct 2000 Location: New York City | | I played guitar before bass. My main guitars were an Ibanez Explorer (from early 80s I think) and a real old Tele that I killed the value of by throwing a humbucker btwn the 2 stock pickups. Made the switch to bass close to 20 years ago, and now rarely touch the guitar. I have one guitar that I use for everything, and surprisingly, no matter how hard I try to give myself guitar gas, I just can't seem to do it. I own about 20 basses, some keyboards, all kinds of gear, but I've no interest in buying guitars. The one I use came out of an endorsement. Company also built me an awesome custom 5 string of the same model. It's the bass in the first video below. It's a Minarik lotus.
I pretty much only play for demos now. Here's 2 guitar parts I'm kind of happy about. Both with the Minarik. 2nd one has an Ovation acoustic. Oh yeah, I gots one of them too. And a casio keyboard beat on #2 also. Wash My Hair | Joe Nerve Over and Over | Joe Nerve

I'll post a pic later...

since p90's are all the rage again, they have to put them in everything.

As of NYE I will be done gigging on bass - except a couple times a month at church, but that's not really gigging. Anyway, I have my fancy basses for sale (see signature) and I think I'm going to get a guitar and try to learn that better. I can do basic chords, but I would like to learn some "cool" stuff.
Stores around here carry the usual suspects - Yamaha, Takamine, Crafter, etc. They also have Breedlove and of course - Taylor. I'm playing a friends Taylor 314ce right now. Can't imagine getting anything but a Taylor. Awesome playing and sounding guitar.
My fingers hurt - those darn tiny strings. Been using You Tube to find some "instructional" videos. There seem to be some that are pretty OK. I'm fumbling through "More Than Words" and "Wanted Dead or Alive." I know, cheesy, but I'm a child of the 80's - and early 90's. We'll see if the newness wears off after a while. Not sure I need/want to spend all that money for a Taylor, but if you're going to get an instrument, why not get a nice one, right?

| You should also try "when the children cry" by white lion. That's a good acoustic song to play.
