Tech Week!!

Sign in to disble this ad
I've got the tech week for a production coming up in about a week. We have four rehersals on back to back days (two of them being 12 hours long). Its the first time I've done something like this and I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me.
Thanks

Technical rehearsal weeks of back to back "eleven of twelve" rehearsals are commonplace in the theatre community. It's grueling, but the most important thing you can do is keep your sense of humor when you are standing around on stage for an hour waiting on the lighting designer to get a cue right. It will all feel better when you open.

Bring a book and some M&M's or breakfast bars to keep yourself occupied when the lighting crew refocuses the lights because the director just changed the actor's blocking.

Just have fun and bond with the rest of the band.

Do you think I should bring a back up bass to the shows?

Why? Don't leave it there over night or anything. Unless you're in a very small pit with some idiot trombone player that keeps throwing stuff at you, I'm sure your bass will be fine.
