Teisco guitar found me

OK, so its not a Teisco bass but a Teisco guitar. One of the guys I work with said to me "You play guitar right? I have this guitar that belonged to my late Brother-In-Law. I am not doing anything with it and was going to either hang it on the wall in the garage or throw it out. You want it?"

Of course he didn't know what it was but said it could be 30 years old or more. I was hoping for a Strat or Tele or maybe even a Gibson but heck its free. Still I think its cool to have 45 year old Japanese guitar. Hound Dog Taylor jammed one of these things and it looks like a lot of Blues, Jazz and slide players have been grabbing these things to play lately.

I am having a bit of trouble figuring out which model it is but I am guess its from 1962-1965 from the fretboard style. The B and E tuners are frozen and it has flatwound strings on it that look 30-40 years old as then are so worn, they look like one solid string now. The whammy bar is missing and it has some chips and scratches.

I figured I would share the story with my Bass buds here because we all can appreciate a cool story and history.

I know a little about Teisco basses, but almost nothing about Teisco guitars. There are some Teisco guitar experts over at the Guitar Refinishing and Restoration forum if you get stuck on finding out the details about the guitar.

Thanks for the tip. If I can't find anything, I'll try that. Thanks.
