The bass was invented by the Turks in 1961. Or does it have to be true?

You will always need "just one more" bass.

A truer statement has never been spoken.

Less is more..... 99% of people don't care if you can play superfast or overly-technically. Lock in with the drummer, play some nice melodic lines & occasional countermelodies and GROOVE.... B)

The audience doesn't care about you, your bass, your amp or your attitude and ability unless you stop playing - then everything falls apart.

You will be playing for other bass players, since they are the only ones who actually listen to your tone and judge you by your gear.

You will NEVER master the bass - no-one ever has, not even someone named Geddy - which is NOT the name on a Civil War Memorial in Georgia.

<been there - done that>

Unless you play in a reggae band. Then everyone pays attention to you.

The lesson? Play in a reggae band.

It does not matter what gear your favorite artist uses. You will never sound exactly like him/her. You will sound exactly like you. Enjoy it and be the best you can be. Have fun.

No, I'm pretty sure. I don't have a tam or dreads, and so far they're still paying attention. The really big amplifier speakers that liquefy internal organs don't hurt.

But for real, everyone in our band requests that the bass be the loudest instrument on stage and out front.

Any bass with more than 4 strings is a health and environmental hazard and should be sent to me for proper disposal.
Any bass with less than 5 strings is a health and environmental hazard and should be sent to me for proper disposal.
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.

Bass is the only instrument that hass sexually suggestive pedals.
