Tenacious D in The Pick Of Destiny

This topic may have come up before- i'm sure it has - but I finally watched the movie...i laughed my head off. It was the perfect movie for a day-after-hospital recovery.

The bit I found the funniest is the battle with the Devil - "Check this riff, it's f*ckin' tas-ty!" In fact I think my girlfriend is sick to death of me saying that line now!

It made me want to buy an Ibanez Iceman and write songs that turned people's brains to sh*t

It was "too stupid" for a lot of people, but I loved it. I'm big on really dumb comedy, and movies about music, so I loved it. Master Exploder was the high point for me.

What's it gonna be Kyle, tits or destiny?

If you have the DVD, check out the 2 other versions of the entire movie on it - One with Jack and Kyle discussing each scene and the other with the director's comments.

Pretty bad movie.
Ben Stiller was watching it.
After leaving the theater the first time I watched it again and it was more bearable.

I'm a fan of "dumb comedy", and even this was a little too stupid for me. Big disappointment IMO, Tenacious D's songs are quite funny but the movie fell short.

Some bits were in really bad taste humour but i liked it. Dave Grohl played an awesome devil!

I saw the Hollywood Premier of this movie (Jack & Kyle came dressed as Two Kings in their underwear, Ben Stiller sat a few rows behind me, etc) and LOVED it. Then I saw it on DVD and went "eh, it's an okay movie." Then I remembered certain scenes and remembered how much I laffed.

I think Tenacious D lately has been really funny in small doses. They kinda lost me in the movie, but if it was in the HBO show style, cutting some scenes and all... it's great.

Still cool.

I was a little drunk watching the movie and it helped. I am always a fan though.

I went to see it at the theater in the local mall. There was nobody in there but me. Yep, a private screening.

That's a statement about the mall, not the movie. I'll admit I was hoping the movie would be funnier. Love the songs, and I always enjoy Jack. He's an amusing dude and a great singer.

The beginning of the movie is the best part. Than the movie drags a bit, but still fun.
