I just saw them last night and they put on a great great show. Truly a religious experience.
Japanther are a Brooklyn-based basement-punk bass and drum duo that have a tape player to accompany them on songs when they need extra instrumentation. They are lo-fi to the extreme; instead of using microphones they've constructed their own mics using pay phone receivers. Any fan of punk, or dance music should check them out.
Also, they're incredibly friendly guys.
