Is there a place that tells what each artists genre is?

Thats a vague topic. What I'm doing is trying to get my itunes in order. Its already organized down to a tee, but I want the genres to be right. I've put them into what I thought they were, but I don't think I got them right. Is there a place that could help me with this?

No one agrees on genres. One man's blackened death metal is another man's dead black metal. My advice is just to label each song with whatever you think fits best. You can't do it on a per-artist basis anyway can you? Not every song by a particular artist will fall in the same genre.

Or you could just do what I do, and give up on labeling genres. If I've got title, album, artist, year, and maybe composer filled in, I figure I'm doing good.

Use your ears and tell yourself. My iTunes is all self-classified.

Genres are a funny thing today , imagine how many sub genres in rock we would have now.

Last.fm shows you what bands have been most tagged as... you'll see what most people label them as and you can choose which one you agree with.
