Thinking of starting a band.

Sign in to disble this ad
so ive been playing for a while and i think im getting pretty good and so me and my friend ( drummer ) is gonna start a band.. just a bass and drum band. we still havent decided if we should get a guitarist because the music we play will be more experimental and progressive. so im looking for music just to relate to dosnt have to be the genre i mentioned.. i like alot of music.. but one of the bands that stand out with great drums and great bass is grand funk railroad. ( LOVE EM ) any bands u know that has a great drummer and bassist that just stands out alittle more? just for inspiration. and what do u guys think of the idea of progresive expermental ( rock kinda ) bass and drums only? could it work..? ( reason i dont want to get a guitarist is cause i just cant be bothered right now till we progress alittle further most guitarist here just shred and it just makes me want to hang myself. and thank god my drummer just got out of the metal scene :P )

Hahahaha, first thing I thought of when I read the title is this....

YouTube - ‪Reel Big Fish - Don't Start a Band‬‏

Matt Wong, phenominal bassist, wasn't in the video because of a family emergency. He missed the filming. Still a great song with a lot of truth to it.

Throw in a saxophone.

Oh wait, I think Morphine did this and it worked well.

There's a local band around here who just plays bass and drums when the guitarist cant make it. It's an experimental jam band. Seppuku Survivor. Youtube them. Maybe its Sepukku.. Idk lol They're good.
