I've just bought a couple of tickets for The Brand New Heavies via Ticketmaster.
Ticket price for the pair was $79
On top of that total service charges were $31.45 - that nearly 40%. ***?
I still don't understand what 'convenience fee' is, the description on the Tickermaster site has lots of words but doesn't explain it! Anyone know? I am feeling ripped off but of course I have no other option. This sort of gouging of customers via what is a monopolistic supply is disgraceful.
Of course I have a choice, but my choice is to go a see some pumping bass via Andrew Levy and sweet vocals by N'Dea, so my bad.

the worst part is that they charge you that fee even if you go TO them. whos convenience? certainly not mine, as ive gone TO you.
bloodsuckers, man... bloodsuckers.
-------- --- violates the law here by buying up quantities of tickets before the public has access to them and scalps them thru a v.i.p. type outlet for big bucks....maniitoba law prohibits the sale of tickets for more than face value.....the government seems to be unwilling to act

You do always have the option of driving to the venue and purchasing them. That's what I do to avoid the surcharge of the tickets.
here you pay either way.....it's called an agency fee..........and when the tickets are bought up in advance by the subsidiary of the seller, the people waiting on line outside find the show sold out.....then they get to buy the same ticket from the subsidiary at an inflated price.....
