I am not sure what crackhead in the design team over at Gibson is coming up with these wack designs but someone needs to put a stop to it. Also since when did having a figured maple top on a guitar run you an extra 2 grand, Gibson needs to pull there heads out of there ass's here the price difference in wood is maybe 15 or 20 bucks between figured and cheap crap wood we are not talking about coco bolo. Am I the only one that see's this bull **** and gets |

Not my personal taste, but different strokes for different folks.

those electronics look pretty crazy to me. i'd never play an instrument like that, but like dark horse said....

Also almost every new gibson I have played just felt cheap and more like an epiphone which is pretty much what they are these days unless you spend 5 grand ish. Its just kind of sad that a company that once made such wonderful instruments is les pauls name is now turning out such crap. As to who the buyers of these guitars are Im not sure. They could buy a knock off for 2 grand less and wind up with about the same guitar. |

I play bass and guitar, the base of the discussion is the fact that gibson and other name brand companys are taking so many short cuts they are no longer making a product that is worth what they once were. Thats all |

I have no interest in it, but apparently there are people who do. Seems like it would be hell to maintain 10 - 20 years down the road. |

It's still hideous-looking, though.

They put out this wacky electronic gizmosaurus with 30 years out-of-date styling, goofy name and overinflated price tag, and THEN they show the dismal player ratings right there on the official Gibson website. I read up on all the specs, demos, and reviews, and its absolutely terrible. Why were they thinking they could just attach HUGE metal pickup covers/pickguard?? As someone who works in a music retail store, I pray we never get them in, because they will NEVER sell.

The preamp can be set to give each knob whatever you choose it to (EQ, effects, whatever).
Each pickup can be programed to act as a humbucker, single-coil, or P-90. You can even choose which portions of the pickups you want to have as one of the above.
On top of that, it has a built-in wireless system. And it tunes itself.
P.S. The $4k price tag is the MSRP |

Wouldn't it be interesting if Paul Reed Smith wound up owning them after Gibson sued him? Or even stranger if Fender wound up owning Gibson?
