Time signature for Paul Simon's "The Cool, Cool River"?

I can't figure it out, I've tried counting 5/4, 7/8, all sorts of odd signatures but none of them fit.

Does anyone know, or can anyone find it? If you can, can you tell me how you did it?

Thank you in advance,

-Sean

I've never been sure of the time signature myself, so I just play the bassline as best I can as it appears on the record. Great tune btw, especially that explosive ending!

Hi,

This reference quotes the time signature as 9/8, but it's still fun to make that fit and I suspect the time signature changes throught the song.
