tips tricks and life savers

Sign in to disble this ad
after viewing and posting on talkbass for weeks n weeks i've picked up a lot of usefull tips and tricks and i thought it might be an idea to lump them all into one thread
your tips and tricks can be anything at all so long as its bass related or gig related but lets not fill it with the obvious stuff
eg. carry duck tape to every gig... yawn we all know that
lets get some less obvious tips like i dunno
sticking strips of ductape on the back of your bass cuts down on buckle rash and helps it grip your body
you get the idea although that was a poor example to be fair

i'll start off with one and you guys follow

1: two small bits of velcro on the wiring cover and wiring cavitiy elliminates the use of screws and makes a battery change a lot faster

If you see a bloody hitch hiker with an ax by the side of a dark road in a remote location, keep driving.

If you're constantly getting into the electronics of your equipment to tweak, see how it sounds, tweak, see how it sounds, tweak, see how it sounds, etc. then get a terminal strip to fit into your cavity. Not always possible as some cavities are tiny, but much easier to tweak wiring, you don't burn components, and you don't tear up the conductors as bad.
