Tool Concert

just came back from the tool concert tonight here in Houston, and I must say it was amazing! Just wondering if anyone else is attending any of their summer 2010 tour dates or any big Tool fans like myself

F***ing love TOOL...Just recently got into them when I 'got it'. Up to this point I've been to 1 concert and counting (John Mayer, Feb. 2010.... kick ass). I've played probably close to 500 shows and been to 1..........well not counting Debbie Gibson with mom and sister in late 80's (Insert ridicule here, here and here)

Tool is my favorite band of all time. First time I saw them/heard them was in 92 at one step beyond (a little dive club in San Jose). Been a huge fan ever since. I've probably seen them 4 or 5 times at major venues since then, but that first time was and will always be one of my best musical memories.

Went to one in June 07' and one in Aug 09', one in an arena, one in a smaller venue. Both shows were amazing and blew my mind. I've liked tool since i was about 10(1999?) by far the best live band I've been able to go see. The opening few notes felt like they stopped my heart both shows as well....

I went to school with Maynard (James) Keenan. One grade above me, hung out with the same crowd as me. Very odd (artistic). His parent were teachers at the our high school, Mom taught English and Spanish and Dad was science and math. MY moment of near fame.

wow that's pretty sick u went to high school with him haha. u guys on Friday are gonna have a blast trust me. I've been a fan of tool even since schism came ut which was like 2001 so 4th grade for me. they were pretty much on my top 5 bands to see list along with Disturbed, RATM, RHCP, and Linkin Park. I still gotta see the latter 4.

I'l post some pics up here of the concert and stuff i got (poster and shirt) in a lil. TH only lame thing was the pics had to be taken with my cell phone cause they wanded you down to make sure you didn't bring in a camera... so yea.

here was there set-list btw:

I was at the Houston show, great show but I was disappointed because I thought we might see some new stuff. No new stuff.

I dug the opening band, Wovenhand, except I don't know why the guitar player had to sit down the whole time. Looked weird.

to me the opening band wasn't that bad either, but yea it was pretty weird how the guitarist was being lazy and just sitting down haha. i really wanted to hear parabola, the pot, and right in two. 3 of my faves they didnt play but it was still awesome. Jambi is the perfect song to open with.

Schism was a single off of Lateralus. It hit the radio in early 2001.

Seen 'em 4 times, the setlist you guys are getting is a great one.

I'll be seeing them on Sunday! They were one of the first heavy bands I started listening to back in the day. Never really imagined I'd get to see them, but now that I am, I'm finding myself more and more excited about it as the concert gets closer.

Who opened up for them?

Been to many shows. Saw acts from Plant/Page (awesome) to Beastie Boys (also awesome).

Tool is by far the best show out there. I think only Pink Floyd could compete (who I have not seen).

There were huge lines getting in, so we missed the opening band.

The set-list was awsome. Did they need to play a 20 min version of Lateralus? Probably not, but it still rocked.

I'm going tomorrow night - Red Rocks in Denver, CO. It'll be my 8th Tool show!
