By-Tor and the Snow dog

Being a huge, long time fan of Rush. One of my favorite albums has been Fly By Night. There is one song that has intrigued me the most. By-Tor and the Snow dog. In the middle Alex and Geddy get into a nasty (meaning awsome) duel with guitar and bass. Many times I've often wondered "who is playing the role of By-Tor and who is the Snow dog?" and what role does Neil play? are his drums representing the battle field?.

Any takers?

2112 is a whole other topic

On the back cover of the album Alex Lifeson is identified as "Snow Dog", and Geddy Lee is identified as "By-Tor".

P.S. My favorite version (probably because I saw the show on that tour) was on the first live album "All The World's a Stage". It OBLITERATES all memory of the studio version...

Thanks Mitch. I have it on CD, but never noticed on the back (yep, it's there).

Pick up Rush in Rio. If you can find an easter egg then you get to watch an animated video a fan produced that the band used on tour (well, at least at the shjow they recorded for that DVD set).
