I couldnt find any threads on this,so sorry if its been done too many times

Im strongly considering trading a bass in the classified section....

how does that work?...what should I look for to insure a SAFE trade?....do you just trust the people to ship it out to you?

thanks guys.

I have done 2 trades here on TB and both went well; I have no complaints.

I'd recommend just checking out the person's post history etc, see how long they've been a member etc etc. That's a good preliminary step. Chances are if they're a supporting member they're probably pretty legit (hehe i'm not). You could also arrange some sort of deposit system.

I've only done it w/VERY established TBers, only after my feedback was fairly lengthy, & had no problems.

I've traded a couple basses, amps and effects here.

When trading, I try to get us to both ship on the same day, same courier and then supply with a tracking number ASAP. I always provide my phone number in case of problems. Try to get theirs too. You'll also have their address from shipping so once you have the name, phone number and address, it isn't hard to track down the person if something goes wrong.
