Tripod stands for holding BG in upright position?

Sign in to disble this ad
I just got a fretless BG that has a surprisingly good EUB-ish tone, but it is crazy neck-heavy. Like far beyond what a wide strap or any minor mod could solve. I'd flip it, but the neck profile is exactly what I like, and the tone is cool, and it looks good. So since it's EUB-ish anyway, why not mount it vertically on a tripod stand? I know I could DIY something (and I probably will) but I've seen various tripods already commercially marketed for this purpose. Problem is, I can't remember any brands or models of them.

So, can you point me to some brands, links, or other tips for a vertical stand? Thanks!

Personally, I'd just sit with it.

Yeah, I know, I'm not helpful at all

looks like it could keep the neck free for playing.

I'm not sure how I'd make that one work. Here's what I'm looking for:

That one's an NSD, and it might be just the ticket--any others I should be looking at?

I've seen this done with a wishbass. The person used a cymbal stand and a tom mount to attach it to the bass. Kinda ugly from the back, but you would be the only one seeing that side of it.

That could work... Any other suggestions? The drum stand thing does seem like the most economical approach, and the bass only cost me $150.
